GnuCash is personal and small-business financial-accounting software, free-to-use, and available for all common platforms.
Now, the "free" part is good, but what's really great about GnuCash is that it's a viable replacement for Quicken.
Yes, that's right, finally there is a cross-platform, free, and feature packed alternative to the bloated, buggy, and over-priced defacto standard for checkbook software. If you are trapped using the crap that is Intuit software, then give GnuCash a try.
Reasonably easy to use, powerful and flexible, GnuCash allows you to track bank accounts, stocks, income and expenses. It is based on professional accounting principles to ensure balanced books and accurate reports.
I've been using it for two months now. Granted it's not as easy as Quicken, but then again I am not an accountant so double-entry seems a little weird for me right now. And there is a learning curve, (but there is a curve for any new software you use anyway.) But again, it is free and it is very robust (i.e. doesn't crash)
Check it out.
